The MMU Concert Series welcomes world-renowned artists: Neil Jason, Lenny Castro, Nicky Moroch, for a unique, one-night-only show!

The 70s and 80s: Two decades that defined individuality and cultural expression. Through it all, the songs of those time periods have left an undeniable mark on society and in our every day lives, becoming a part of our routines in the present and undoubtedly… the future. On March 28th, Thomas Claxton’s “Me, Myself, & Us” Concert Series takes a trip back in time, welcoming Special Guests: Neil Jason, Lenny Castro, Nicky Moroch, and Tal Bergman, four world-renowned performing artists that helped shape the music that we all know and love. Introducing our Special Guests:

•Lenny Castro (Percussionist of Toto, Christopher Cross): Invited to join Toto by legendary Drummer Jeff Porcaro for their debut album tour, later joining them in the studio for subsequent releases, Lenny’s iconic studio contributions to the band include massive hits “Africa”, “Rosanna”, “Georgy Porgey”, and many others. As one of the most sought-after Percussionists in modern music, Castro has recorded with several other musicians, including Christopher Cross, Dolly Parton, Stevie Nicks, Joe Bonamassa, and Eric Clapton, the latter of whom he played with for the Grammy-winning song “Tears in Heaven”. Castro was nominated for Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the 46th Annual Grammys for the album Rural Renewal as part of The Crusaders.

•Neil Jason (Bassist of Cyndi Lauper, Dire Straits): As a professional bassist, producer and composer, Neil Jason has worked with a plethora of iconic artists. Some of the names he’s contributed to include: Paul McCartney, Pavorotti, Billy Joel, Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, Hall & Oats, Mick Jagger, Pete Townshend, Paul Simon, Kiss, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, The Brecker Brothers, Celine Dion, Brigitte Zarie ,Cindy Lauper, Dire Straits, Eddie Van Halen, and John Lennon… just to name a few! In addition, he was a member of the house band for Saturday Night Live from 1983 to 1985, and has over 100 appearances with Paul Shaffer and the Band on David Letterman.

•Nicky Moroch (Guitarist of David Bowie, Madonna): Nicky Moroch comes from a musical family and has had a guitar in his hands ever since he could hold one. He actually learned to read music before he could read a book! He joined Return To Forever drummer Lenny White’s band at age 20 and started a career as a first-call session guitarist soon after. A true musical chameleon, Nicky appears on countless recordings, TV shows and soundtracks, as well as live performances with artists as varied as David Bowie, Vanessa Williams, Madonna, Luther Vandross, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Keith Urban, Jessica Simpson, Wynonna Judd, Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Bob James, Stanley Clarke, Bill Evans and Roger Glover of Deep Purple. He continues his studio work and can often be found touring with sax legend David Sanborn as well as his group, The Sideguys. A solo project is also in the works.

•Tal Bergman (Drummer of Billy Idol, Joe Bonamassa): World-class drummer and producer Tal Bergman versatility spans hard rock, rhythm & blues, jazz, funk, soul, blues rock, pop, hip hop, electronica, world music, indie and alternative rock. As a drummer, he toured and recorded with some of the most exciting performers on the music scene, including Joe Zawinul, Billy Idol, Chaka Khan, B.B. King, Dave Mason, Roger Daltry, Loreena McKennitt, Sammy Hagar, Simple Minds, Josh Groban, Joe Bonamassa, Richie Kotzen, Billy Gibbons, Eikichi Yazawa, MC Solaar, Herb Alpert, Chris Botti, Terence Trent D’Arby, Peter Cetera, Heart, Belinda Carlisle, A Tribe Called Quest, MC Lyte, De La Soul and LL Cool J. to name a few. He is also the Associate Producer and Drummer on the multi-platinum and Grammy nominated album (7 million world wide) It Had To Be You … The Great American Songbook by Rod Stewart.
